Fund honors fallen soldier

Posted August 28th, 2009 by Chris Cooper

Sgt. Justin Duffy was killed June 2, 2009, in eastern Baghdad after a roadside bomb exploded near his Humvee. He was 31. Family and fellow members of the Army’s 82nd Airborne Division have created a scholarship in his memory.

Duffy graduated with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from the University of Nebraska at Kearney in 2000. The scholarship established by his family and friends will benefit UNK students who are studying criminal justice, health science or who are members of UNK’s ROTC program.

You can support this fund and honor Duffy’s memory by going to nufoundation.org/justinduffy and making a gift now. You can also find out more by visiting the Facebook group setup in honor of Sgt. Justin Duffy.
