University of Nebraska at Omaha

Successful cities of the future will exist where great universities lead the way. UNO intends to do just that—be the key asset for 21st century Omaha. Already, it has received the highest federal recognition possible for civic engagement, and it’s tackling Omaha’s urban challenges head on. Each year, 90 percent of the students who enroll at UNO are Nebraskans, who stay in the city after graduation, contributing directly to the local work force. Although more than 100 years old, you could say UNO’s story is just being written.

The campaign’s top priority is to provide students across the state affordable access to the university through scholarships and financial aid provided by private support. At UNO, for example, more than 75 percent of the campus’ 15,300 students currently apply for financial assistance.
